Dhanush to act with Simbu's heroine!

Dhanush's 'Irandam Ulagam' is fast progressing with Selvaraghavan wielding the megaphone day and night to complete it. This film has Andrea playing the lead. But news has surfaced now that Richa Gangopadhyay, the new import from Tollywood, is also in the film.

Richa had recently been signed up for Simbu's 'Osthi', which is the remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Dabangg'. The actress seems to be the hot favorite in Kollywood these days as she has bagged two big projects in quick succession.

Sources in Kollywood say that Richa is sure to set the tinsel town in fire with her sex appeal and acting. The lady is also making all efforts to seal her place in the Tamil film industry

Dhanush complete his movie ‘Venghai’

Having releases back to back has almost become a habit for Dhanush. Since November 2010 to till date (six months, to be precise), four films of the actor (‘Uthamaputhiran’, ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Seedan’, ‘Mappillai’) had hit the screens.

And now, the son-in-law of the Superstar has completed his forthcoming film too- ‘Venghai’, directed by Hari. “Done with Venghai. It is a typical mass masala commercial film,” he says.

Playing opposite Dhanush in ‘Venghai’ is Tamannah, his ‘Padikadhavan’ pair. A rural entertainer set in southern Tamil Nadu, expectations are high on ‘Venghai’, since Hari’s ‘Singam’ was one of the top grossers of 2010.

Besides ‘Venghai’, Dhanush is also hoping high on ‘Irandam Ulagam’, in which he joins hands with brother Selvaraghavan after a long gap. “It is an emotional entertainer which talks about human relations,” sources say.

    ‘Venghai’ - secret of success

Director Hari is upbeat about his now complete venture ‘Venghai’ which has Dhanush and Tamannah in the lead roles. Hari’s films usually tread the same path but despite the same type of stories are a huge hit among the audience. From Vikram, Suriya to the most recent Karthi the director has made them all dance to his tunes, well literally!

What is it that makes his films draw in crowds?

Hari’s approach to film making seems simple. For one, stick to the facts that you know well. The second thing is to do the job with all sincerity. Hari’s shooting spot usually resembles a military camp.

There are certain aspects which are always present in the director’s films. One is a huge family involving all the young and old which will be in full attendance in many of the scenes. Another aspect which has the “Hari stamp” is the village back drop. At least a few scenes in the film will be shot in lush green villages with a song usually pictured from a village. The other most important factor of Hari’s films is the message it carries – the good prevailing over the evil in the end.

Well people go to theatres to take a break from their demanding life for some entertainment and Hari’s films will sure be a hit with the masses despite the fact that his stories have a similar theme.

‘Venghai’ sees Tamannah sharing screen space with Dhanush. This film is a litmus test for Tamannah in Tamil, the actress has not yet singed any Tamil films recently. Courting controversies recently, the actress appears in this film with a performance-oriented role says the director. Unlike the other films where Tamannah has appeared to up the glamour quotient this film will see her in a different avatar. The director who usually does not sit for story-telling sessions with his heroines spent three hours with Tammanah for narrating the script, reveal sources.
